Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2, 2026

This policy explains what information Reonlingo collects across this website and the Reonlingo mobile app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Template notice: this page is a starting-point draft, not finished legal advice. Have qualified counsel review and localize it — especially for GDPR, India’s DPDP Act, and children’s-privacy rules — before it governs a live app or handles real user data.

1. Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy applies to visitors of www.reonlingo.com and to users of the Reonlingo mobile app on iOS, Android, and iPad (together, the “Services”). It is issued by Reonlingo, Inc. (“Reonlingo”, “we”, “us”).

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account details: name, email address, and password, or sign-in details if you use Apple or Google Sign-In.
  • Profile information: your target language, self-reported proficiency, and stated learning goals.
  • Support requests: anything you include in a message to our support or contact channels.
  • Optional audio recordings you submit for pronunciation practice or speaking exercises, where that feature is enabled.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: lessons completed, streaks, quiz results, time spent, and in-app navigation.
  • Device and technical data: device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, and crash/diagnostic logs.
  • Approximate location derived from IP address or device settings, used to localize content and detect fraud — not precise GPS location, unless a specific feature asks for and you grant that permission separately.

2.3 Information from third parties

If you sign in with Apple, Google, or a similar provider, we receive the basic profile details that provider shares with your consent (typically name and email). If you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, we receive confirmation of your purchase and subscription status from Apple or Google — we do not receive your full payment card details.

3. How we use information

  • To create and maintain your account and sync progress across devices.
  • To personalize your lesson path, review schedule, and content difficulty.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Services, including diagnosing crashes and abuse prevention.
  • To communicate with you about your account, product updates, and — only with your consent — marketing updates such as new-language launches.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., hosting, analytics, crash reporting, customer support tooling), bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
  • Apple and Google, to the extent required to process app store purchases and deliver push notifications.
  • Professional advisors, regulators, or authorities where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Reonlingo or our users.
  • A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy or a comparable one.

5. Data retention

We keep account and learning-progress data for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterward to allow reactivation, resolve disputes, and meet legal and accounting requirements. You can request earlier deletion as described below.

6. Your rights and choices

  • Access, correct, export, or delete your personal information by writing to [email protected].
  • Withdraw marketing consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in our emails or your in-app notification settings.
  • Users in the European Economic Area and UK have rights under the GDPR, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • Users in India have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, including the right to access, correction, and grievance redressal — contact us using the details below to exercise them.
  • Users in California and other US states with privacy laws have rights to know, delete, and opt out of certain data sharing, as applicable.

7. Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for users aged 13 and older (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can remove it.

8. International data transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — to protect data transferred internationally.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we make material changes and, where required, notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
