About Reonlingo
Not everyone learning a language already speaks English.
Almost every language app makes the same quiet assumption: that English is the language you already have, and the only question is which one you want next. For most of the world that is simply untrue — and it turns learning into a double translation, from the new language into English and from English into the language you actually think in.
Reonlingo treats a course as a pairinstead: the language you already speak, and the one you want to learn. Every language we ship works as either half, so a Tamil speaker can learn Hindi without a word of English in between — and gets the same production quality that better-funded languages get by default.
Our method
Four principles behind every lesson.
Start from what you have
A course is a pair, and the language you already speak is one half of it. Explanations, hints, and corrections come to you in that language — not in English on the way to somewhere else.
Sound first
Language is spoken before it's written. Every course leads with native-speaker audio, playable slowed down or at natural speed, so your ear learns the real rhythm rather than a textbook approximation.
Script, not shortcuts
We don't transliterate around the alphabet. A writing system is taught outright — with a photo, a recording, and immediate use — because reading the script is what unlocks everything after it.
Built for real conversations
Every unit ends with you saying the words out loud and being scored on it. The goal is to be understood by an actual speaker — a grandparent, a colleague, a shopkeeper — not to pass a quiz.
Who’s building it
Reonlingo is built by a small team of linguists, educators, and engineers who care about the languages we’re building for — several of us are learning alongside our early testers. We work with native-speaking voice talent and language consultants for every language we ship, in both directions: a pair is only done when it reads naturally from each side.
