Learn any language
from a language you already speak.
Most apps only teach from English. Reonlingo starts from whatever you already speak, and teaches any other language in the catalogue from there — every explanation, hint, and question in your language, from the very first word.

Any language, any starting point
Your language is the starting point — not English.
A course on Reonlingo is a pair: the language you already speak, and the one you want to learn. Every language in the catalogue can be either half, so there are 30 courses across 6 languages — and each new language we add opens 12 more.

A Tamil speaker learning English
Grammar notes, hints, and corrections arrive in Tamil — so the English is the only new thing on the screen.
How it works
From first word to real conversation.
Four steps to set up, then the same short, satisfying loop every day after that.
01
Choose your two languages
Tell Reonlingo the language you already speak and the one you want to learn. That pair is your course — and either side can be any language in the catalogue.
02
Say how much you already know
Four quick questions — from "not a word yet" to "I can hold a conversation". Your answers decide where your path starts, so a complete beginner and a rusty heritage speaker don't get the same first lesson.
03
Follow a path that shows where you are
Your whole course is laid out as a journey — chapters, sections, and units, with what you can already do written out in plain words and the next thing to do always on screen.
04
Come back tomorrow, and the day after
Streaks, XP, and coins are there to make the habit stick. A streak calendar shows the run you're protecting, and a leaderboard shows how you're doing against other learners.
Inside one unit
Hear it, say it, then use it — in that order, every time.
1. Listen
Two people have a short conversation. Hear it at native speed, or slowed down, as many times as you like.
2. Speak
Say the line back. Your pronunciation is scored on the phone itself, against the native-speaker recording.
3. Practise
Choose the meaning, fill the blank, match the pairs, put the words in order — every question asked in your own language.
Finish the unit and you get a score, a plain-language summary of what you can now do, and the coins and XP it paid — then the next unit, one tap away.
Why Reonlingo
Built for the learner who doesn’t start from English.
Most language apps quietly assume one thing: that English is the language you already have. Reonlingo doesn’t. Every part of the app below follows from that.
Taught in the language you already think in
The first one matters most: every prompt, hint, correction, and grammar note is written in your language, not English. Nothing is lost translating twice in your head before you can even start.
The script, taught from zero
Devanagari, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Latin — a new writing system is a lesson, not an assumption. Letters come with a photo, a recording, and a chance to use them straight away.
Real voices, at two speeds
Dialogues are recorded by native speakers. Every line can be played slowed down while you're finding your feet, then at natural speed once you can keep up.
Speaking is scored, not skipped
Say the line back and your pronunciation is checked on the phone itself — no upload, no wait. Correct the habit in the first week instead of the first year.
A path that starts where you are
Four questions on day one decide where you begin. Anything you've already passed stays open to redo; what's still ahead doesn't pretend to be unlocked.
Streaks, XP, coins, leaderboard
A streak calendar draws your run as one unbroken ribbon — because the run is the thing worth protecting. XP and coins are awarded for finished sessions, never for opening the app.
Progress you can actually read
Not just a percentage: a plain-language list of what you can now do in the language, per skill, synced to your account across every device you use.
Languages we teach
6 languages. Every one of them works in both directions.
There is no “main” language here. Each of these can be the language you speak or the language you’re learning, and we’d rather ship a handful properly than a hundred half-heartedly. More are added as each one reaches Reonlingo’s quality bar.

One phone on the table. Two people, two languages.
Lay the phone flat between you. The screen splits in two and the far half turns upside down, so you each read your own side the right way up. Speak into your half and the other person hears it — and reads it — in theirs.
- Each half has its own microphone, and its own language.
- The translation is spoken aloud as it lands, so neither of you has to stare at the screen.
- It works from the day you install the app — you don't need to have finished a single lesson.

Built for every device
One account. Every screen you actually learn on.
Reonlingo is a mobile-first app — the learning happens on your phone, tablet, or iPad, not in a browser. This website exists to explain what you’re signing up for before you download it.
iPhone & Android
The whole course — path, lessons, speaking drills, translator — sized for a lesson between meetings or on a commute.
iPad & Android tablets
The same lessons on a larger canvas, better for script practice and longer study sessions at a desk.
Synced to your account
Start on your phone, carry on from your tablet. Your pair, your path, your streak, and your coins follow the account, not the device.
Sign in however you like
Email, Apple, or Google — or start as a guest and keep your progress by creating an account whenever you're ready.
Early access
What early testers are saying.
Every other app wanted to teach me English in English. Reonlingo explains it to me in Bangla, which is the only reason I got past the first week.
I moved to Delhi for work and needed Hindi, not English. Going straight from Tamil, with no detour, meant I was saying useful things within a fortnight.
I could hear Telugu at home but never read a word of it. It started me at the script instead of assuming I already knew it, and the speaking scores kept me honest.

No — that's the whole point. You pick the language you already speak and the one you want to learn, and the course is built for that exact pair. If you speak Tamil and want Hindi, the lessons are in Tamil, with no English in between. English is one language in the catalogue, not the doorway to it.
Pick your two languages. We’ll tell you the moment Reonlingo is ready.
